What to Do & Where to Go this March

Here are our picks of places to go and things to do to make the most of your month in and around Scottsdale.

SOAK IN SOME CULTURE HERE
 – Recognized as one of the top art fairs in the country, the Scottsdale Arts Festival has been bringing world-class art, music and cuisine to Old Town Scottsdale for 50 years. The event, which attracts nearly 20,000 people a year, will be held March 13-15 at the 20-acre Scottsdale Civic Center Park. More than 170 jury-selected artists from the U.S. and Canada will showcase painting, sculpture, glass, ceramics, jewelry, photography and other media. Festival-goers will also enjoy live music, hands-on activities for all ages, lawn games and more. Get your tickets here.

SIP & SAVOR HERE
 – Beer or wine—can you really go wrong? Hotel Valley Ho is holding a Beer vs Wine event, pitting Stone Brewing of Escondido, CA against Orin Swift Winery of St. Helena, CA for a festive evening Saturday, March 21. Brews and fine wines will be paired with a five-course meal, with a secret ballot after each course determining the winner in the showdown. Reservations are required.

SWING INTO SPRING HERE – Spring training marches on at The Salt River Fields at Talking Stick baseball complex in Scottsdale. Diamondbacks fans can catch the action on the field through March 22. Enjoy incredible views of the mountains from every seat in the park, then make a day of it by visiting the nearby shops, restaurants and nightlife. View the full 2020 schedule here.

CELEBRATE THE NEW YEAR (AGAIN) HERE – Celebrate the New Year in Persian style at this year’s Persian New Year Festival on Saturday, March 7. The event, which takes place at the Scottsdale Waterfront, is also a celebration of spring, family, community, food, music and dance, benefiting the Ivy Brain Tumor Center. Last year’s inaugural cultural event welcomed an estimated 6,000 guests. Admission is free and includes complimentary hot Persian tea. Get your tickets here.

GET YOUR GREEN FIX HERE – The Spring Plant Sale at the Desert Botanical Garden blooms March 21-22, when more than 30,000 plants will be on display. Horticulture experts will be on-hand to help you pick the perfect cactus, agave or ornamental plant for your home or garden. Admission is free and specimen-sized plants and delivery services are available.
